Everything about this place is great, from the service to decor, and especially the food. Will be back, can't wait for the next adventure!

Great meals for family sized portions. I personally like the boasted chicken, pizza, and the homemade rolls.

Highly suggest for a spot for before amy shows at the Genesys Theatre! Delicious food and great service! Owner shakes your hand as you walk out as well

Promptly seated and served with friendly service and delicious food! The server here is doing amazing making sure everyone is good and stocked with fresh bread and water for the table! Great little Italian spot!

Have gone here for years. It's my hometown favorite. Their bucket of chicken is worth my 25 min drive.

I have to be honest as a pizza fanatic, the pizza is mediocre. Not bad but definitely not an "amazing pizza or best in the area"

I would patronize from the local neighborhood restaurant aspect but the pizza is not a gem or anywhere even close.

Louie's is the classic place to go in Waukegan. The food (especially the bread sticks) is really good and you always run into people you know.

The experience experience was very pleasant. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The food was even better with generous portions

Came from Washington State and saw this hole in the wall type place to eat. Walked in and was immediately greeted. Was seated and had excellent conversation with the waitress. Ordered a pasta dish, daughter ordered chicken dumpling soup. This is why we find these hole in the walls. Food was excellent and I highly recommend this place!

First time there, and a very nice change of pace from all the chains around the area. Like family places. Better atmosphere. Many times much better food.

Better food than at Portillo's, I wish they had more locations so I could eat there on a daily basis. Also a pleasure to meet the very kind owner who comes from Greece. Thank you for marvelous food!

Absolutely best sauce ever! I got the veal parm and it was absolutely amazing. My husband and son both got pizzas neither had left overs. Both said best pizza ever! The people, oh man the people, they were the nicest, perfect service. The place is older but clean! Loved the atmosphere. Also I don't know what is in or how they make their break they give you while waiting, but I could've just sat there and ate that.

Old timey type neighborhood bar - food is pretty good and consistent. Friendly service as well. Recommend the house salad/dressing, breadsticks and broasted chciken.

They have slot machines in a private room as well.

Ask about the carryout special, great deal and an excellent pizza. This has become a weekly weekend dinner at our house.

Been going to Louie's ever since I lived near Waukegan. I used to go there when I was a little kid with my aunts and grandma. The food has always been amazing and the staff are such kind people. My favorite has always been the spaghetti. Every time I come back to Waukegan I always ask for Louie's at least 3 times while I am there.

Hubby and I went here for dinner at 6pm on a Sunday (they close at 7pm) we had the super duper pizza. It was yummy. Service was a little
Slow but we were still done and out by 714 pm. So not horribly slow. All of the staff was very friendly. And the prices were reasonable. If we’re in the area again we will stop by.

Had lunch with my crazy gf Linda there today. Haven't been to Louie's in a yr. Still love it! Delicious Reuben sandwiches!

Delicious original food and great staff!
French fried shrimp is worth a try.
AOH is where it's at, request real bacon.
Broasted chicken is a little dry.
Ribs fell off the bone.

Overall great food and will continue to come here.

All you can eat fried chicken buffet on Sundays and best mashed potatoes I’ve had in years. Praise the Lord for Louie’s Restaurant

I haven't visited Louie's in quite a number of years and it seemed to have been going downhill at the time.

I was there 2 weeks ago for lunch and there was quite a change. The service was quite good. I had their meat ravioli with meat sauce and it was very good, very rich flavor. They serve their garlic bread with. They were very generous with it, brought more with the ravioli entree.

Overall a very good lunch experience and I do plan on going back to try another entree.

Awesome old school Italian restaurant! Perfect for before a show at the Genesee Theater. If you are there on a Friday, have the Poor Man's Lobster! Lasagna is incredible! Good strong drinks!

One of my all time favorite places. I eat there every time I'm in town. Had the ribs this time and they were fantastic! Plus it's just comforting in a world of constant change to come back and see Louie's is still the same great place it's always been.

The food is amazing. Stop in when you have time on your hands as the kitchen is a bit slow but you can't rush perfection.

We hadn't been here in a long time. We don't live in Waukegan anymore. We got a pizza & really enjoyed it, so the next day we ordered another one. Will definitely go back.

What an amazing place! The food was wonderful. Our group of four basically at appetizers all night, which were tasty and full of flavor.

I use to work here long time ago when I was in high school, the family that runs this place is awesome, polite, kind, and friendly. The food is amazing, so good you will want to come back again and again. When you go inside it feels like home. I recommend this place anytime you are in the area.

I celebrated my nomination this evening in this great restaurant. I am glad to say that we enjoyed a sensational evening and the place was certainly the reason for the outstanding gathering. Portions are big. Food is very good. The breadsticks are unreal - make sure to dip them in the creamy garlic sauce!

My friend from work Laura took me here for lunch. She asked where do you want to go for lunch? I said wherever you want to go, so she said I’m going to bring you to my favorite. Immediately I felt like I had stepped back in time into my Italian roots. It is a quaint, cozy little Italian place! My first time there and it wont be my last! The pizza was delicious and the french onion soup is amazing! The homemade breadsticks are delicious and look like little loaves of perfectly baked breads!

Been there 3 times. Service at lunch not good. Service at dinner excellent. Lasanga. Poor man lobster excellent. Chicken strips from a frozen dinner were better than the ones offered at Louie's.

Hands down, the BEST place to hang out and eat with family and friends— the delicious food hits the spot every time and the classic old school vibe is unbeatable!

A long time family run business and a very family friendly oriented theme. As soon as I walked in the ambiance was very warm and cozy. A clean and well organized bar welcomed my friends and I with a neat touch of old and maybe even authentic clock and cash register. The free garlic bread was so good, marshmallowy soft and tasty. First time I has the Louisiana style broasted chicken with super buttery mashed potatoes and it was phenomenal! Chicken was so juicy, perfectly crunchy and with less fat. Price is very reasonable for a great tasting food with an outstanding customer service. Will come back to try more of the items in their menu. I heard the hamburgers and sandwiches are really good too!

We love Louie's. Best creamy garlic dressing, best reubens on dark rye, great patty melt, lasagna, garlic toast, really friendly owners and staff. Get something there 2 to 3 times a month

I'm from Houston so this is my first time in Wauykegan. This restaurant was very pleasant and very friendly! Food was SUPERB! Make sure you get to this spot, you will LOVE IT!

A quaint little place. The prices are exactly where they need to be. Spent $20 on a decent set of plates; the Italian Bomber was pretty tasty, though portions here are a bit small, flavor was full. We had a decent time, Larissa was very personable; she went above and beyond her call of duty making sure we were good with our choices. The atmosphere here is for ages 21+. It's a cleaner place and has a red vibe to it. ‍️ I left happy enough to leave a review. Easily will return. The bus boy should be a little more attentive, but his service was available. It seems like a decent crew is going on here.

Grabbed a drink and quick dinner before a show at the Genesee. A gem and a blast from the past. Classic simple Italian fare at a good price. Wait staff knows folks are here before a show and take care to get you out in time.

This place is incredible. The food is out of this world. It doesn't get any better than this. The owner, Tony, you cant find a better person.
