Cannot get over how good this burger is the Palmer House lobby is incredibly beautiful to sit in. Great place to people watch. But OH all I’m thinking about is the burger. I ordered it medium well and it was perfect. So peppery! Will be back for that for sure.

We've spent lots of time at Lockwood's Restaurant & Bar, both as guests and as after-show patrons. The atmosphere is always lively with the hotel guests and the staff is great. The service is professional and Chicago City grade. We love the drink and wine selections. I always look forward to climbing the steps into the lobby for a great evening.

This is a nice place to grab a cocktail but if you're staying in the hotel and trying to get room service or takeout it's literally easier to leave the hotel and grab something else. Last night I walked down and spoke with a woman at the counter at the restaurant. I tried to place an order with her and she told me that my only option was to scan a QR code and do it with my phone. I informed her that my phone was in a far-flung corner at the hotel and implored her to let me put in the order directly with her but she said that was not possible. I walked up to my room and realized that the required QR code was nowhere to be found, so I walked back down (probably 20 minutes of walking at this point) to scan it, then walked back to my room again to fill out the order. When I completed my order and submitted it, I got an error message that instructed me to speak with the folks at the restaurant. So, I again walked back down to the Lockwood to speak with somebody directly. Maybe 45 minutes have elapsed at this point. I finally flagged down a waiter, who requested that I have a seat at the bar and place an order with the bartender. I did this, only to have the bar tender tell me that it was "impossible" for him to put in a food order and request that I, again, speak to a waiter. Frustrated, I just left the restaurant and had a lovely, effortless, and fast meal at Miller's Pub next door (highly recommended). When I returned to my room perhaps an hour later I was called on the room telephone by the kitchen, who said they were trying to get a hold of me about my online order (the one that was submitted with an error message) that unbeknownst to me had been prepared and was waiting for me, and that they had been calling the room phone repeatedly. Obviously, I was next door eating during that time. I politely explained the situation and the order was cancelled. All told I put about an hour of effort into ordering takeout from these folks without success. I love the Palmer House but skip the restaurant, it was an awful experience. The food is decent (I've dined in before) but I have seldom experienced such sloppy and negligent service and I will certainly not be ordering from them again anytime soon.

We went out to Lockwood for dinner with our toddler and had a great experience. The staff, including the manager, were wonderful; very accommodating, attentive, and made us feel relaxed (it is not always easy with a toddler) and welcome. The food was great.

Reasonable breakfast menu. I had the overnight oats and coffee. I didn't eat there in the evening because we wanted to explore

Delicious salmon, the best I have eaten so far. Super atmosphere of the restaurant. Highly recommended!

Celebrated with family and everyone's meal was cooked to perfection! The dessert sampler was amazing! Thank you, Shah, Ximena, and Manger Luis for making our night even more special.

The atmosphere and experience was amazing! We had the charcuterie board and the hummus plate. Both top notch and very warm pita bread to complement the spread. Everything tasted very fresh and of high quality. However, the service? Not so much. The gentleman didn't like that we had a coupon for the charcuterie board and two drinks. When we got the bill, our two old fashioneds were on there. He said he told us which drinks were part of the deal but we didn't get the menu until after we ordered and asked for one. The other server took off everything except one extra drink we purchased outside of the coupon and was very nice. I understand if you are having a bad night but don't bold face lie to customers and treat them with attitude because you don't think you'll get a tip. We still tipped well, ($10 on a $10 bill). But my real tip to them is be nicer, it's better for everyone.

Great atmosphere, a place to see and be seen. Highly recommend going on a live music night. It is pricey, seating and getting the bar staff's attention is tricky on busy nights

This is one of my favorites spots in Chicago however last Saturday I stopped by for drinks and appetizers around 4: 00 pm I sat at the bar, the bartenders literally ignored us for 20mn, then finally they gave us the menu and we have to wait another 10mn for them to take our order, we only had the drinks because it was impossible to order the appetizers later. It’s a shame such a wonderful place has such a bad service, the bar wasn’t busy at the time we were there.

Bartenders are great, food we tried was delicious and came out quickly. Variety of drinks and non alcoholic libations available.

Went to get a table at the restaurant and was told to find my own table as they were really busy. Shocking, never known anything like it.

Enjoyed an early breakfast with friends. Reservations are not accepted and tbe entire party must be present before being seated. Excellent traditional breakfast fare. Our waiter Juan was amazing.

Oh my dear goodness, the SALMON! I discovered from one of the servers that the person who cooks it is called Juan, and I believe this person to be MAGIC. I ordered it twice, because it was so dang delicious I had to eat it again the next day! I was literally daydreaming about it while I was in the Art Institute museum.

Cannot recommend this place enough. They were *so* excellent about checking on my food allergies/restrictions/sensitivities, and I felt super safe eating there and DIDN'T have a reaction either time.

Very limited seating in a very large hotel. Loud and busy. Limited menu. Food and drinks are ok, including the original Brownies.

Admittedly, I only stopped in to try a brownie at the place that invented the dessert, but the drinks and service were very nice too. The setting in the historic hotel with all of its wonderful architecture certainly made for a nice relaxing break in the day too. The brownie itself was fantastic, and I can see why it became such a common item more than 100 years after its invention.

The food is fantastic. I would gladly come back to this place for the food. It's right across the street from that church they use in so many films (Constantine) and on TV (Glee). Right across from the Metro Expo Line. The LAATC stop. You can see it from the train.

Food and drink were excellent. Rigatoni is creamy and delicious. Juicy burger with crispy bacon. Setting is gorgeous. Service was somewhat slow.

The ambiance and the server were EXCELLENT, the waiter played the piano for my cousins who were celebrating their 32nd wedding anniversary, it was beautiful.

This is inside the Palmer house. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. We sat had Sazererac enjoyed the ambiance so much we stayed for dinner. I got the burger and fries.

Lockwood is known for creating the first brownies which they
made famous at the CHICAGO World's fair. The hotel lobby is stunning. I thought the brownie was too moist, but try it yourself.

Great food and drinks in an historic setting with wonderful ambiance. The hotel isn't providing room service for the time being, so we we grabbed dinner to bring back to our room. We had the burger with fries and our son had the pepperoni flat bread. Everything was delicious (the hamburger patty was a tad bit salty for me but my spouse thought it perfect). Excellent service, as well!

Great drinks. The bar is usually extremely crowded, takes about 20 minutes to get a drink, minimal seating.

Sure, it's a hotel lobby, but when with great food and drinks, live music, and fabulous, beautiful and relaxing atmosphere!

I thought I would try the COLD overnight oats. Great flavor, but I learned that I like my oatmeal HOT. Everything else was very good. Be aware that their buttermilk pancakes are the size of manhole covers!

Classic bar in iconic Palmer House. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Limited menu, and all the items very well done.

I must admit I did not actually eat at this restaurant I was staying at the hotel but the Aviance of the restaurant was incredible next time I'll be able to actually tell you how the food was lol

This restaurant is located in the Hilton Palmer House. We enjoyed 3 mornings of breakfast here during our stay at this hotel. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Beautiful atmosphere with clean linens. Food was fresh and to temp. Our dishes were well presented, hearty, and tasty. I could not finish my plate of the brownie pancakes, it really takes two people to finish the three very sweet pancakes. Just a note, the house favorite breakfast sandwich comes with a sunny side up egg under the bread, so it will become a mess if you pick it up and eat it like a regular sandwich. I thought the food was very good and filling, but overpriced.

This is by far my favorite spot since i moved here. They food is excellent great vibe great atmosphere. 5 stars all across all day everyday!

American food, my favorite treat. I'll return with my friends. The bill was fair. Feels similar to a restaurant in New York I liked.

My fav spot for quality American food. Prices are decent for the quality. Atmosphere and food reminds me of Virginia Beach.

I visit this place a lot since I work right next to it. I love how the customer service is always excellent and they keep the place well organized consistently. Rates are fair and they serve big portions.

The Palmer House Hilton houses the Lockwood Restaurant. They have some of the best lobster sandwiches made with a single thick slice of bread split in half and stuffed with the sandwich stuffing. The bread is soft, yet firm to handle the weight and is very convenient to eat without dropping them all over yourself. The creme brulee is good though quantity wise, it is quite a big portion. The sandwich came with a choice of sides and I selected fruits. All together it was a great treat from my wife.

I came in to try their famous brownie. The hotel and restuarant area is gorgeous. The brownie along with the ice cream was quite good, albeit a bit pricey. However, the service was subpar. I had to ask twice to be waited on. The server was nice enough when someone finally came around. I saw others being waited on and given coffee and water refills with expected regularity by other servers. Another server, not the one who took our order, came around and handed us our check before we asked for it. She said no rush, but you don't hand a table the check without the expectation that they pay and leave. I did not see other tables get this treatment. If I reccomend this place to others, I will insist they order their brownie to-go.

Had the clam chowder and lobster roll—it tasted incredible. However very soon after, I felt rather ill and vomited in their bathroom. When I tried to inform the hostess that I believe their seafood may be tainted, her response was “oh okay”—word for word, nothing else. Extremely concerning they don’t take health and quality concerns seriously. Would recommend steering clear

The food was fantastic, and it would bring me back for another try - but the service was terrible! The hostess was borderline rude, not even acknowledging is at first, and she never smiled the entire time we were there. Our server was neglectful, at least to us, but always seemed happy and eager to help other tables. While we were there, five other tables were seated, served, and left, before we were given our check. We had to send our son up to his next audition or he would have been late, and my husband left me to wait for the check because he had to find a restroom. Total, we saw 10 tables served, including the ones who were there when we sat down and the ones still seated when we left, so they weren't busy, but our server was never circling looking to assist us. We had to wave him down from other tables to get his attention. Once, he stopped to ask if we needed refills, quickly took the cups, and tried to hasten away, so we had to stop him in order to get what we needed other than just the refills. I was shocked that such a nice restaurant in such a beautiful hotel could have such horrendous service!

The menu and service were above our expectations. I truly loved the ambience of this restaurant. Amazing spot to take the family out for dinner.

The “food” was mediocre at best, I ordered the filet. Calling it of grey matter, is a compliment. There was hardly any flavor. The service was good, but the food could use some work.

The ambience was great. The temperature of the room was cold due to the traffic of people coming in snapping photos, passing thru and coming to eat. I only ordered the fries as it was late for dinner and when I asked to have a water it took 20- 25 minutes or more to come back. The fries were good and the sauces. Here's where the last 2 stars fell off *SERVICE! My water glass was NEVER REFILLED. I watched and felt as if I was was being ignored purposely. Then I noticed several people on the same side of the room as I were getting annoyed at service also. I'm here for a weekend, I will see if I return to Lockwood.

I adore this place very much.theres a great atmosphere. The meals are very tasty.the service is effective and the personel is polite. The pay is decent. I highly recommend.

Stopping by the Palmer House lobby bar is one of our favorite holiday traditions. The Lockwood is off the lobby bar and affords a lovely view of the lobby. The service was very amiable and professional. The food was good and well priced. Enjoyed ourselves very much.

Recently took my sister-in-law here for afternoon tea, expecting that it would be high-quality at the Palmer House. Aside from the decor of the restaurant itself being fairly shabby, the table wobbled, the sandwiches were dry, the waiter had no idea what was being served, and it was some of the worst service I have ever received. We waited 30 minutes for a hot water refill and another 30 for the check. The presentation was also disappointing - basic white plates and cups. I've been to many other afternoon tea services in the city and this is by far the worst. Try the Allis for amazing tea at a lower cost!

Lockwood Restaurant and Bar inside The Palmer House Hilton is absolutely wonderful. As most travelers know, the hotel restaurants are typically good but not necessarily great. Lockwood is the exception to this rule. From seating to atmosphere to service with a sincere smile and food to shout about, this place rocks. Highly recommend the Lockwood Burger (the raspberry jalapeno jam and pickled onion condiments are out of this world!) The Bolognese pasta is exceptional, too. Christina's service and attention was top drawer.

Amazing food. The desserts were a feast for the eyes and tasted out of this world. Sherry our waitress was super fun. Service was great

We stopped at Lockwood for cocktails and snacks. Entering the lobby is very impressiv and alone worth visiting. The classical margarita on the rocks was the refreshing drink we urgently needed at a hot day like this. The Palmer House Fish and Chips - excellent. Two juicy and crispy pieces of cod, fabulous chips and cole slaw. Therefore this spot is highly recommended.

The Palmer is magnificent in all of its Art Deco splendor-So step back in time, Ladies and Gents! Try the hand crafted cocktails; all of the mules were great. So was our food which was beautifully presented. Don't forget to share a signature brownie (the drizzle and carmel gnoche make this chocolatey masterpiece a MUST).
