Lakewood Family Dental

Had my first apt with Dr. C and DA Shelby yesterday. Ran through two previous dental offices before finding them. Got me in timely, and were very encouraging and knowledgeable. Good listeners, and made sure i left with a full treatment plan moving forward.

The black doctor/dentist was great and nice short Indian lady was very nice! This is 2nd time I've been here and service was so much better than past years!

Best dentist ever Dr.sudhu and Denise are truly professionals and while my situation was a serious one they had to tell me they were done I was waiting on them to get started thank you guys so much

I saw Dr. Shaihk on 6/23/23 (after maybe a 5 min.wait time) and found who will be my dentist. I had been seen there in the past for the same issue as today (was told no cavities, just sensitive teeth) but Dr. Shaihk found the real issue. He really knows his stuff! Now my problem will actually be fixed. He was very gentle and easy to understand. Then I had a dental cleaning with the hygienist (can't remember her name but it starts with a U - sorry!), who was also very kind and gentle. We had a wonderful conversation as well. Everyone there was courteous and professional and should be acknowledged as such, not judged by their appearance.

First time here, called ahead and specifically asked if they have an oral surgeon who can do wisdom teeth extractions. They said yes, depending on how complicated it is. So I scheduled my appointment, and let them know I would be driving about 2 hours to get there. When I got there, they take me to the back and after a couple minutes tell me that they don’t have an oral surgeon and they don’t do wisdom teeth extractions. Then they blame it on their call center, so why don’t they know what services you actually offer? Complete waste of my time.

Pretty great experience. Only give it a 4 * because I had to come back because of a piece of tooth was still in my mouth after getting 5 teeth pulled. They got me in right away

I got a molar out on Friday that had bad infection well today is day five of sickness got it pulled at noon at 410pm had a fever of 104.2 and throwing up. Called office and had no doctor return call or give antibiotics. OMG who does that missed work and everything. After third day about collapsed and had racing heart and respiration went through roof now today very weak chest tightness and short of breathe. Do they know you can become sepsis and develop heart issues because of not having proper treatment. It can kill you. Get it together for the safety of others. I won't ever go back there!

The ladies and staff were very helpful! Andrea made my visit very comfortable! I will highly recommend.

I was anxious about coming, but staff put me at ease. They were very friendly and my first cleaning was very quick.

Super kind and funny! Did a great job! Didnt even feel the shots! I went yesterday to get 5 teeth pulled and I was super nervous as one usually is lol, but she did and amazing job! I have had many other teeth removed and it hurt so bad every time! It made me not want to go back for years! She did such an amazing job that I still have no pain! Her and her husband are fantastic! I highly highly recommend them!

These folks have been cleaning my teeth for while now…couple years maybe. They improved my brushing which was damaging my gums. I was surprised I was doing anything wrong, I’m an adult! But I was brushing too aggressively and using an electric toothbrush which wasn’t helping my cause. Then the Dr there noticed a chipped filling and got me scheduled for a crown. First I had the temporary crown, then on schedule a couple weeks later, the permanent crown was installed. And one week after that I had the crown fitted further so it fit perfectly. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I used government insurance and I sometimes think we don’t get the very best care…but I have to compliment the folks there for doing a great job and attending to all my questions and concerns.

I came in for a cleaning with my family of 5 others the staff was great they got us all in and out in less then 25 minutes

I loved the service from them and would recommend this location to anyone else who may need help with extractions, cleaning and basic oral care!

I made my son an appt for Dec 5th for an emergency appt for the root canal he needed that was causing him incredible pain and also to no be able to attend school. We get to the appt 15 mins early
We weren't brought back till 15 mins after our appt. The only thing that was done was an xray. Dentist said he was only scheduled for an emergency appt and he can't do it there's no time. (He kept saying it takes 45 mins) meanwhile we had been there for an hour at this point. At 4: 15 They then offered an appt for a week away. I said absolutely not my child is missing school in so much pain he can't eat. So finally they said the next morning at 9 December 6th. We get to the appt get right back to the room. The assistant asked how he was he said in alot of pain. I added the dr never sent in pain meds he said he would. They put numbing stuff on his tooth we sat there for 20 minutes. Finally the dentist comes in to do the root canal. I timed him he was with my son for 8: 53. He left the room to work on another patient. Came back after 10 mins and worked another 6 mins on my child. So he spent 15: 09 in total time with my son. This isn't good patient care and there way of doing things should be addressed. You can't leave 0 stars or I would have.

My mother got treated for dental problems at Lake Wood Family Dental on the month of October.
The staff were very caring, compassionate and very knowledgeable and professional.
She felt fine (no pain) after the Dental work.

My experience over the years coming here as always been great. The staff and the dentists are always so friendly and welcoming. They also do a really great job of listening to you when it comes to numbing the area they plan on working on. I've been here for filings, cleanings and extractions and have not ever had a problem. Wait time is usually minimal and you can always expect to be here about an hour at most. They do a great job of taking care of what needs to be taken care of in a timely manner.

Alayna and Ms. Denise listen to Mr. Michael when he comes in very friendly people! We love Dr. Dasari and Dr. Shaik! All of the staff is amazing!

I went in yesterday everybody was super nice the hygienist cleaned my teeth so good! * they was late getting me in but I know next time they will get the IG queen in on time!

I've been to Lakewood Family Dental a total of 4 times now. And each time the experience has been great! Everyone there is super friendly, which is a huge deal for me. I suffer from extreme anxiety so to find a place that is patient and kind is so important, and they are just that! Will definitely continue to go there!

I was worried after reading some other re Jews but I was pleasantly surprised once I got there. Front desk was friendly, techs were friendly and gentle with my daughter and Dr. Lisa was. Dry sweet.

This was my first dentist visit in over five years, and my teeth were in BAD shape. I got a much-needed cleaning, and I have to say Uzma (the hygienist) and Nicole (the dental assistant) made that cleaning not only bearable but actually fun! They made me feel so comfortable, and my teeth haven't felt this clean in years.

I'm actually excited to go back to start filling cavities thanks to the amazing women at Lakewood! Shout out to the doctor (Divya) as well - she didn't make me feel terrible about my teeth (and she easily could have) and explained everything so well. If you want the best dental experience possible, this is the place for you! And ask for Nicole, Uzma, and Divya.

Really disappointed.they are super rude. Dont know what happened to this place. Is usually pretty good. I waited till almost 4 p.m. For a 3 pm appointment and still did not get seen by the dentist. They called and confirmed my appointment at 3 and then they told me that its at 3.30. I didn't mind and waited for more then 1 hour. Rest of the people went even after my appointment. Also while in the waiting area which only had 5 chairs and more people waiting in lobby. VERY Rude, unprofessional and unpleasant.

Lakewood is an asset to the community. I am amazed at how many people they serve a day. Their hours are convenient which helps out many working parents. Way to go Lakewood.

I would give zero stars if possible. My 10 year old and I both had our first appointments together. They were very busy and people were being moved through like cattle. No one in the cramped waiting area wearing masks. People sitting on the floor because there was only room for 6 chairs. At my follow-up "deep cleaning" appointment, I went to the counter and waited to ask a question while the employee worked on the computer and answered the phone. She also looked at her personal cell phone a lot. She ignored me for over 30 minutes, and when another person entered behind me, she acknowledged him right away. I left and skipped my appointment after waiting over an hour. This place is grungy, the workers don't change gloves or wash hands often enough, especially after touching things around the office and the staff is very disorganized and unprofessional. I'm guessing the people who go here are low income and don't have any other choice. I'm amazed this place stays in business.

Dont know what happened to this place. Is usually pretty good. Today I waited till almost 3 p.m. For a noon appointment and still did not get seen by the dentist. Also while in the waiting area which only had 5 chairs and usually 6 or more people waiting, the receptionists were talking about someone who came in wanting service in front of everyone. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Walked out and will not be returning.

I made a dental appointment for today at 8am the assistant called to confirm it yesterday but failed to mention they don’t open to 9am I had trouble contacting them about the issue when I finally spoke to someone she thought it was humorous that I was sitting in front of a closed office in pain looking at an email stating a time that Lakewood dental provided and I got up out my bed on time I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I have had a LOT of dental work done in 50 years. The team at Lakewood dental was outstanding. I felt that Nikki, dental assistant, and Dr Divya had smooth interactions with each other while work on my crown prep. I was able to relax and feel comfortable. This is a high compliment from me.
As for the small waiting room, yes, I find it can be uncomfortable AT TIMES. However, that was mostly before two years ago, before the pandemic.

I was in on Saturday for what I thought was a tooth bothering me. I had Dr Josh. He did xrays and tapped on my teeth and found nothing wrong. He believes it is a sensitivity issue. He changed my toothpaste and cleaned my teeth and I was good to go. So glad it wasnt anything more. I have not felt comfortable with a dentist since I had Dr Alan and then he left. So glad I an depend on Dr Josh to take care of my teeth now and I feel comfortable again with my dentist. He even has a good sense of humor and jokes around with you.

Two stars. The man doing my x-rays was kind, made small talk, etc. However, I have a problem with rhe main dentists. Were EXTREMELY rough cleaning my teeth, even made my ears ring for a while. Were pretty sloppy also. Somebody walked out saying "this is ridiculous". My teeth slightly ache now. Just don't reccommend.

Nobody likes the dentist but I look forward to my interaction with the staff. The dentist is all business and the ladies in his employ have the perfect mix of professionalism and friendly. I especially liked the exray tech Maria was especially wonderful and I will absolutely recommend.

I would have put 0 stars, but I couldn't. I needed an extraction, they told me they would be able to do it. Got there, they took x-rays and sent me on my way in pain. The dentist gave me a referral to someone in CHICAGO!? ! The dental assistant smelled like she hadn't had a bath in a week. The place is dirty, no hand sanitizer for customers. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

The staff here was wonderful, Mariah helped my fear of doctors and made it very enjoyable. The Doctor gave a wonderful cleaning aswell.

Mariah is a wonderful warm inviting assistant she worked really well with my daughter I would love to have her as the assistant when I come in. Her attitude is very well mannered in such busy environment. Thank Mariah 6 stars

If I could give this place a -10 I would. DO NOT go here. Was supposed to get Crowns on my upper front teeth. The dentist did not introduce himself, did not check if I had an infection and took his tool to my teeth for 1 minute and put a latex/ plastic cover over them. Left me in pain for the past two and a half months. Finally got into a new dentist and I have a severe infection and the dentist is not sure if they can be saved! Stay away from them!

Jessie and Mariah best assistant’s I have ever had at any dentist! Made the whole experience fun and comfortable for me 100% love them!

Place was nice and clean, hygienist was amazing and gentle dental assistants explained with clear details and doctor K extracted
My tooth quickly and I am very satisfied

I will never come back here! I lost a tooth because they put 3 temporaries on and a permanent crown and they all fell out and I ended up with infection! They tried to put a utensil in my mouth that was dropped on the ground as well.

The staff, very patient with my toddler. However i wish more information was given to the doctor before arriving. When I called to make an appointment I told the staff, my toddler has been crying for 2 days that her teeth hurts during meals. I told her I can see visible cavity's. The advise after should’ve been to see a pediatric dentist who can x-ray & fill her teeth. Instead we got a 20 second cleaning and a paper to call a pediatric dentist). I’d comeback for myself but NOT for a 3yr. Old.

I went last Thursday because of tooth pain. They said the tooth was decayed (infected) putting me on antibiotics would have been nice and then pull it once the infection was gone. But NO they just pulled it.now after seeing my primary physician I have a major infection in my jaw and am on 2000mg of amoxicillin for the next 10 days.will NEVER go back. HORRIBLE experience. I am going to be talking to an attorney in regards to this matter

The women that work there are WONDERFUL! It is the main doctors I’ve had issues with. I am highly allergic to nickel and they still continued to place silver filling in my teeth that look absolutely disgusting. The way my teeth look now as a 23 year old that had braces for 3 years is just horrid. After I’ve repeatedly told them I’m allergic to nickel and it’s caused migraines and breakouts, along with putting a toxin in my bloodstream that I now have to deal with, they refused to replace them and gave me a referral. This took 2 separate appointments for them to tell me this. I’m so upset. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy!

Very disappointed, made an appointment because I've been having tooth pain. They take me back, I sit and wait. Spoke with one of the assistants on why I was there and she took several x rays. Next thing I notice, my chair is being lowered and I'm told to open my mouth. Wasn't told what they were doing or why. After they apparently cleaned my teeth. Another assistant came in told me I had several cavities and 2 teeth that needed to be abstracted, never even spoke about the pain in my one tooth. Proceeded to tell me I was all set to go and to see me back in 6 months.so mad so irritated I walked out without a 6 month appointment cuz I just literally wasted my time and drove that far away for them to do absolutely nothing for me.

Came in because I had a really bad toothache. Left with a cleaning and a follow up appointment for a Root Canal. Lord jesus pray for me! But the service was excellent. Jessie & Dr. K was very professional and I definitely recommend.

Very professional, I had been waiting for months for a appointment from my regular dentist office and they got me in right away no hesitation my apt wasn’t for a week and when I called and said I was In pain they got me in the very next day, high key recommend

I had the best experience with Jess she was patient with the fact I had a busy 9 month old and shes very professional and Lissette was very professional and nice. My experience was very good.

Lasseter calmed down my nerves she is very friendly and I am terrified of the dentist she was very calming the dentist himself needs to be more people friendly and tell you what he's doing say hello at least the staff is very friendly

I broke my front tooth at 10 yrs old and have been in dentists offices for over 40 yrs. I can appreciate being from another country and maybe being a bit on the less than social side. The experience felt like a game of hide and seek. Everthing done behind me with little interaction. 3 days later after 2 extractions I am in so much pain with nothing and feel that calling would be a waste of time. Can't go back after this experience.

I went in for tooth pain they took out that tooth then told me I needed to come back for my cavities so I did and now after they filled my cavities my teeth have been very sensitive to everything I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM ONE BIT

Very good people. I just got back from Oregon and compared to the 5-ish dental places I went there this was better by far.

I went in complaining of tooth pain. Over the past few months I have developed several large visible craters in my teeth. Upon inspection they informed me they were stains and that I needed to floss more. I asked for them to look again and after 10 seconds assured me nothing was wrong. I wasn't sure how this was possible when I was experiencing extreme pain while eating. I went to a another dentist at another facility to get a second opinion. They confirmed that I had 4 cavities that required fillings. I do not recommend Lakewood Family Dental.

My daughter and I went to have a routine check up. They were backed up so everything was rushed. My daughter got her teeth cleaned, but I didn't get any service. Apparently laughing is not allowed in office lol. Dentist was rude as hell and unprofessional. We will be looking for a new dentist.

I had to have my wisdom teeth removed as they were severely impacted. First, they called for a different name. I assumed it was a slip up, no big deal. I corrected them, and the assistant just said, "yeah whatever. " I thought this was rude, but really just wanted to get it over with. I got back to the room separated by curtains and they told me I was having 5 cavities filled. I said, "No I'm not, I'm having my wisdom teeth removed. " Apparently when I corrected them on my name, they didn't listen. If I hadn't asked questions, I would've had a lot of unnecessary dental work. I was also led to believe I was having all of them out in one session. Wrong again. Noone told me until I was in the chair either. The actual dentists were very rude. I was obviously a little nervous after the incident, and the dentist was about to turn me away for being anxious about the procedure. They had to do 1 tooth per session. The second one was around lunch time. The dentist pried the impacted tooth out as fast as he could instead of drilling it. I have nerve damage now. On top of that? He left before he even signed my prescription forms. The assistant had to run out the door to bring him back to sign them. Why? He wanted to go on his lunch break. His assistant even told me that. If you value your lunch break over a patient's wellbeing you shouldn't be in the medical field. The swelling was terrible and I had terrible bruising all along my jaw. This is the only place my insurance will let me go and it's safe to say I'd rather deal with any other issues than to back there. They also did a filling on my sister. She never had pain before, but she has ever since. Several of the dental hygienists were very nice, but overall I would NEVER recommend anyone here.

The staff at Lakewood Family Dental was very friendly, outgoing & understanding. I was terrified of coming too the Dentist but Chanel made my experience good. I LoVe her & her personality. Such a sweet girl.

I have really bad teeth I'm missing many. Many need other small stuff. Pretty bad shape. This is my first visit and I will be back. This is the 5th dentist I've tried in Pontiac and Bloomington and by far the best. I found a winner finally

I always have a great experience here. I have had teeth pulled, root canal, fillings and crowns. The dentist is great and staff is amazing. Lissette is wonderfull. She always makes me feel so comfortable! Overall great place

PLEASE.do not go here. I saw that this place has 4.2 stars and decided to give it a try for my tooth infection which needed care immediately. When waiting in the room with the dental assistant, woman came in and told the assistant to “not do anything on me yet because her insurance hasn’t answered back. ” IN FRONT OF ME. I’ve never had a dentist do that before! Also, the dentist was super short with me and “determined” that there wasn’t an infection at all. However, he prescribed me antibiotics “in case there is an infection, it’ll take care of it. ”

Me: “I thought. I thought you said there wasn’t an infection? ”

Him: “umm open your mouth *check tooth for 3 seconds*. There’s not”

Wost experience I have had in my life.went in yesterday with pain from exposed nerve due to filling falling out.the Dr who was there offered to pull my tooth right then wirh my concent that i have a slight infection and thw numbing medication might not work 100% and I was fine with that as was sending me home with pain meds and antibiotics. While I was working with the reception about payment information because lack of the amount of money and no insurance she informed me that I would have to reschedule because he decided to take his lunch and that I would have to reschedule. I was already feeling pushed away because my lack of insurance. Why would he have time to pull my tooth or do a root canal and cap but not have a moment to wait the 10 minutes it took to get my payment arrangement taken care of. Well i kept my feelings to myself and agreed to reschedule. They told me I could come in the next day (today) at 11. I arrived at my appointment and the Dr working today was different than yesterday and he refused to pull my tooth because he said is policy to pull a tooth is different than the other dentist who was willing to pull it yesterday. This time very upset I asked one of the hygenest why did she schedule me appointment today with a different doctor knowing his policy and she told me it's because she was not aware that he was not working today. I'm sure if I had walked in there with insurance or all of the money needed friday things would have been different. Also to the people scheduling appointments it is their job to schedule them correctly. Now I am out $40 to be seen by the doctor to diagnose my problem. Had I known the doctor was going to leave during my scheduled appointment time and take his lunch I would have never paid $40 to be seen my home nor would I have drove all the way back the next day for my second appointment just to be refused. I did ask for my$40 back because of their inconvenience and that I was going elsewhere and I was refused.

Sometimes refuse to answer their phones. One guy drilled and drilled and drilled so long on my tooth I think it was more drilling than all other prior dentists combined. And they will lie to you about when you're cleaning is due if they have overbooked themselves.

Giving the stars for the front desk and the dental hygienist that were part of my visit. They were all super sweet. The hygienist specifically was outstanding.

Dr. Choudrey himself has definite pro (singular) and cons. He seemed to be in a huge rush the entire time. I get really bad anxiety when at the dentist, and especially getting an infected tooth extracted.

First, I wasn't all the way numb, and even though I said this multiple times, he kept insisting I was only feeling pressure. I'm sorry, but there's a huge difference in pressure and pain.

Yes, I moved a bit, but I moved BECAUSE I was in pain. Still was disregarded.

The only pro I can think of was he did offer a prescription for a painkiller afterwards, but I didn't need it nor did I fill it.

If you're left with no other options of a place to go, you'll get whatever you need done taken care of here. You just won't feel comfortable with his bedside manner at all.

Toni was amazing! She was very helpful during the process of scheduling my next appointments. Also, the dentist and hygienist were nice and gentle, and gave me new information about my teeth that no other dentist has. I definitely will be coming back there.
