I don't understand why it takes 90 minutes to check in 8 people. The slowness of this process in 2023 is staggering. Not sure what the bottleneck is but it really needs so change. Find a better way.

Drop offwas very pleasant. The guys working there were great. Its just checkin that is still in the dark ages.

Was sceptical about using this branch due to the bad reviews but this was actually the best experience I've ever had from a rental place! Got myself ready for a long queue but there were no other customers when I arrived (and when I returned) - I'd filled out the free gold member info beforehand so the guy actually told me I didn't need to speak to anyone anyway. My name was on a board with where my car was, I got in, switched it on and basically drove out. Easiest experience ever. Car was great.

I don't say this lightly, but I may be a Hertz customer for life after my experience here. On seeing that my son had a broken leg, the attendants insisted my entire family of 4 plus one get in Tahoe and be driven to the airport. If you've rented a car from MIA before, you know it takes a lot of walking to get to the terminal. Truly above and beyond customer care.

And, yes, I tipped. Generously.

Excellent service, fast excellent vehicles at this point in the Miami airport, it was my first time renting a car in the US and the experience was very good, I will rent with Hertz again.

I would like to share my experience with Hertz Rental and give it five stars to make up for the bad reviews. I honestly don't understand why there are so many negative reviews.

We prepared to wait about 40 minutes for our car as we had read this in previous reviews. However, the patience was worth it. The staff was friendly and they gave us a much larger and newer car than we expected.

Yes, there was a wait but this was acceptable given the circumstances. We were well prepared, and the result was an upgrade that made our trip even more enjoyable.

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD DO NOT RENT FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CHARGED CONTINUOUSLY WEEKS LATER OVER AND OVER WITH DIFFERENT EXCUSES AND DIFFERENT AMOUNTS I RETURNED A CAR ON 29AUG AND THEY SAID I DIDNT RETURN TILL 02SEP NOW THEY ARE STILL TO THIS DAY CHARGING ME FOR SOMEONE ELSES RENTAL AND NOW THAT PERSONS TOLL CHARGES TOO!

Awful customer service at Miami airport location. Provided me with an electric car that stop in middle of the Alligator alley! The Hertz road assistance CS was system down! Never got a tow truck! The supervisor are comfused and not able to locate me- it took me 6 hours until I got my tow truck company in my own charge!
Please STAY AWAY from Hertz

Bad service they promised to take me to the airport when I delivered the car because I am a person with physical disabilities and when it was time to deliver the car they did not want to take me and unfortunately I missed my flight and they did nothing for me

2 hrs to get car- when it was time to pick up car seat for my toddler the Overweight Latino looking man at MIA car garage refused to help me and my toddler reach the car seat from a tall shelve.
Refused to provide me with cleaning wipes after I indicated that the car assigned to me didn’t have the cleaning seal on the door. Car was dirty inside. No COVID cleaning in between clients… worse experience ever! While in line I noticed that people keep coming back to counter for help- it turned out the garage staff refuse to help and instead are directing ppl to go back inside to check out counter which further disrupts the flow. I asked, Mercedes, a female staff the name of the large looking man that was rude and refusing to help and with a smile she said she didn’t know his name.

Paid for a luxury car and they tried putting me in a non cleaned, beat up Chrysler. They had so many cars in the lot that I wanted to pick and would of paid for but they wouldn't budge because I was returning the car in Georgia. This was ridiculous. You have almost hundred luxury cars in the lot ready to go, yet a paying customer can't rent them. Never will use Hertz @ Miama Airport again.

I would give negative stars if I could. NEVER answered the phone, we had issues to clarify with a representative and nobody ever answer the phone. Good luck if you ever have any issues with your rental.

What a terrible company. They don’t explain fees at all. There is no consistency or communication between anyone working it’s like every employee has their own set of rules and are completely unhelpful. We wasted so much time trying to adjust our contract with them which they blatantly refused to do. Their mobile app is also completely USELESS. We will NEVER rent with Hertz again.

I have a rental pick up at 11: 30pm and Hertz rental is not answering their phones for info on the shuttle that they said they would provide. Lord knows if I won’t be stuck at the airport when I land. I’m disappointed in their service. Priceline customer agents tried to reach out to them to no avail. Disappointing first experience!

Slow service, rude staff, sneaky upsell on the insurance and angry denial when queried. Charged for returning the car a few hours late was higher than expected. The car itself was clean and presentable. In short, it’s a shafting from start to finish. Recommend to look elsewhere.

Booked this company as a package through Expedia. The travel dates changed suddenly and over the span of three days, neither myself, nor any Expedia agent could get in touch with anyone at this location. I called roughly five times a day within that time frame.

Rented a car here while on vacation and I needed to extend the rental and I use to just be able to call the store and tell you I want to extend it but they said I had to go back to the airport to rerent another car. I’m a gold member I shouldn’t have to be stopping my vacation just to extend my car rental. For this reason I’ll never rent a car from you all anymore.

Horrible Horrible experience. THEY DO NOT INSPECT THEIR VEHICLES! Normally, I always rent from Enterprise. But this time I wanted give Hertz a chance. MISTAKE. First car they gave me didn’t start. The batteries were dead. Ok, mistakes can happen. Second car they gave me was supposed to be an upgrade drove so bad! I did not notice it in garage but man! When I got on the highway, the whole car started shaking. It was like sitting on a massage chair in the car. I was so scared. I couldn’t return it because it was at night and I was not gonna go back into the airport traffic. So, I returned the next day. The third car I got was a complete down grade. And when I was driving I was pulled over due to tail lights being out. It was such a bad experience and I really would like my money back. Because I certainly did not get the experience I’ve paid for.

Don't go here. - The manager and assistant are not skilled. The car had been paid for a month before we showed up. Then they wanted to put incidentals on a card. Not a problem. Oh, this has your name on it, not your husband's. We can't use it. But it paid the bill just fine. No, we need a card with your husband's name. Oh, you have a debit card? Not a credit card? Instead of $200 for incidentals, it'll now be $500.
Had to rewrite a contract 3 times, and still spelled my wife's name wrong.
And after all that.we still did not sign anything.and they scribbled our signature on the card reader. Got the car, scuff marks on the trunk. That's fine, but don't want to be charged for it. No one asked about the condition of the car.
Do NOT go here!

Arrived on time for our rental and had a HUGE line to get our keys - while waiting we downloaded the app to try and make it go quicker for us but that didn’t work either.

Once we got our keys we went to our car - there was no car in our spot - waited a few seconds and a different car was brought to our spot and the employee just sat in it - we were approached later by another employee who said our car was on the way and did show up about 10 mins later… seems disorganized and disappointing…. How can my car be “Covid” clean as advertised by the sticker on the window when someone else was driving it…

My dad had to wait 2h to get to the clerk only to hear that Hertz would not give him the car he booked and paid for in advance because he does not have a US credit card (he has a French credit card (not debit) which works the same way). Many Europeans waiting in line were in the same situation and pretty distraught which is understandable when you fly halfway across the world to hear that you cannot get the car you booked because Hertz does not recognize the EU credit cards.
My dad rented cars in the US several times in the past with his French credit card without a single problem but Hertz would not budge. Please educate your clerks on foreign credit cards or don't allow customers to book a car with a foreign credit card in the first place if you're going to refuse them the car later on.

Soooo slow. The employees behind the desk take their sweet ole time. The line is wrapped around and they only have one person working with other people behind the desk chit chatting. This was the worst rental car place I’ve ever been to

Awful Awful experience! I picked up a car to have for only one day and it has been misfiring and stalling since I picked it up. I called Hertz and was told I could go by a nearby location and trade it in. When I called locations near me, they stated they had no other cars and I needed to drive the car back to the airport. This is extremely dangerous and I am now stuck driving this car to work (because that is the reason I am here). I am posting this review as proof of complaint as well since no one I spoke to seemed to want to take my information to at least document this issue so this car is not rented out to someone else after me.which I am pretty sure it will be. DO NOT take the blue VW Jetta LOL it is a death trap!

I absolutely do not recommend this Hertz location. After getting in a car accident and needing to rent a car until our car was fixed, my girlfriend went to this location to finalize our reservation. The previous night, we set everything up and paid, so all we had to do was go to the location. Upon arriving, we were given the absolute worst service by the person working at kiosk and the manager who proceeded to yell at us when we were trying to explain our situation. If you can, go to any other car rental service while visiting Miami. Hertz made a miserable and traumatic situation significantly worse. This will be our last time booking with Hertz!

Picked up a vehicle from this company to find out it is infested with roaches. Took it to this branch to do a vehicle swap as I was instructed to do, due to a booking error they made they were unable to do the vehicle swap.they were extremely unapologetic and offered nothing to remedy the situation and still charged me for a full day for a car I had for 14 hours.

The car was nice but had some scratches at pick up.
There was no one available to check over car at pickup.
When I returned the car, I was asked how the damages occurred.
I hope I don't get charged for the damage

Customer service at this Hertz was horrendous. 40 min away and got a flat and had to be towed back to Miami. Had to Uber 40 min and that was expensive. Wouldn't replace the car so had to wait several hours for it to get fixed. Upon return was trying to get a printed receipt of return and Noone was around. It was 1015a and went to the Customer service desk to get help, lady behind counter said they were closed. At 1015a? ! Closed? I questioned if she could help, she just looked at me, shut the window, and turned the lights off. No attending anywhere to be found. Ridiculous experience.

Ok the rates was great and so was the customer service- I guess lol.
Problems faces:
1. I paid online and did everything online. Yet We had to go through the process again.
—-don’t let me get started on the hidden fees.
2. When we went to pick up our car, we had to wait. We did everything online the week before, yet we had to wait. They did not have a car for us.
3. Last, the car had ANTS. And trying to change it was hell.

I wanted to highlight an employee at the Miami International Airport for his professionalism and dedication in helping me. I had an issue with trying to get a rental car for one way travel. Chris went above and beyond to try to assist me. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the vehicle I needed for my one way travel but I did want to take this time to highlight this employee, Chris, for his help! Thank you bro!

I feel robbed. My original rental booking for $289. The customer service rep at the desk offered me a deal to get a bigger and MORE EXPENSIVE RENTAL for $100 more. I said okay show me. After moving some numbers around. He showed me a final payment of $350. I go to return the vehicle and my final payout was $489 after telling him I didn’t have me much money to work with. On top of that their charging me the 289 still. So now I’m in hole for over $700 dollars. I called customer service and he was the worst help ever. I’m really hoping a call back from corporate to resolve this issue.

Rates are ok but the taxes are entirely to high it like 4 different taxes they want you to pay all adding up to almost $100 or over depending on what you rent

I've rented from hertz for last couple of years this was the worst experience I've ever had renting with hertz there was a worker there by the name of Mario who was degrading and Disgusting towerd me almost seemed like something personal he probably had rough day but still.couldn't help me with anything I needed eventually had to go get a car from enterprise instead. I don't think I'll ever rent from hertz in Miami airport again even though I've rented there a couple of times in the past.
