Budget Car Rental

Terrible car rental experience with Budget. Flight arrived and hour late and the line for Budget was very long at 12am. I waited in for 40 minutes. After booking the with an agent in the terminal, I proceeded to locate the car that I rented. I found the row, number and the vehicle, only to discover the key was missing. Apparently the agents at Budget knew the key was missing to the black Yukon but no one bothered to update the systems to prevent the terminal agents from continuing to rent the car. I was given another vehicle, which was a Tahoe but after loading my luggage in another vehicle for the second time, the Tahoe had a bad battery. It would not start. It is now 1am in the morning and I am completely frustrated. I was told by the Budget agent that the key-fob was bad, not the car, on the Tahoe. So I walked back and forth (long distance from booth and car) trying to following some ridiculous instructions re: the key-fob. I expressed, why would anyone rent a car with a bad key-fob, and asked wouldn’t this be a problem for me later. Another female agent was glaring at me as if I asked a stupid question. After much frustration, I was finally given a car that worked. It was a terrible experience and the Budget agents acted as if the issues with the cars were a normal thing. I will never rent from Budget again.

Budget scammed me at Orlando airport 2 years ago and they did it today. 15.99 fee plus taxes. Like last time, I showed the gas receipt to the checkin person. This time I kept the receipt and took before and after photos of the gas mileage left on the dash board.

And I have more gas on the return then when I got it. Have the photos.

The process to pick up, was long. Only one employee working the counter. The car was okay, inside of windows were dirty and foggy. Needed vacuuming. Drop off was a breeze. Would rent/use again but will make sure to voice concerns ahead of time

Customer service was awful. Rental car was in poor condition and not throughly cleaned. Drop off process was a fiasco. Mysterious charges. Never again!

Very disappointed with Budget. Car had 76,000 miles, ran very rough, stuck in 4wheel drive and could not be changed, remote did not work, we went to auto place to get remote open to change battery but remote was broken, a warning light was on dash, left light had a problem. Windows on outside heavily spotted and inside was dirty. We bought windex to clean. Finally was able to return for another car snd to top it off the guy who checked in the car at return area was a nasty ignorant old man. Very disappointed with Budget

Line here is insanely slow, and the employees here have zero sense of urgency or care about the people in line.been here over an hour and half or so and did the precheck online and everything. I come and try and get my paper and the guy is still stalling.all the employees are all gathered in one place just lollygagging.obviously been here observing for a while, and it looks like there's only 1 female employee here that has any clue what she's doing.everyone else is clueless

reading through the comments here while in line, I guess it's a common theme here, but Budget Rental clearly does not care to fix.if they need training, train them.if they're not able to perform, either move them to a position where they can, or send them to another company

Very bad customer service, not recommended. 25 people waiting in the line and just two guys at the counter, I’ve been waiting for 35 minutes to get the car. First and last time I use Budget rental. Never again.

Budget added daily charges to my rental without my knowledge (250$ for a week) They are crooks and be very aware that they will try to do the same to anyone. Awful company

Only one person on the counter, in the queue over an hour while the other car rental companies cleared their backlog rapid, next time I will pick Hertz, Sixt or Enterprise.

What is the point of reserving and paying online only to come to stand in a line for 30
Minutes. Very disappointed.

Dirty vehicle; specifically the interior windshield. It was very smudged/dirty that I had to stop and clean myself. Also when I returned it they charged me for gas even though I brought it back on full, as the fuel gage indicated. (Their electronic scanning device showed it went out with 15 gallons and I returned it with 14 gallons.) They made me go to their service desk to get the credit, which caused me delay as I was in a hurry to catch my flight.

Extremely helpful customer service easy pickup and above all no charge for spouse as a driver

Never again. Reserved a convertible Mustang. Tried to open and close the roof. Right rear window would not go all the way up. Back to rental counter THREE TIMES with 3 different Mustangs-last two, rear windows wouldn't roll up at all. Told me to manually pull the window up. Stuck down inside the car body, couldn't reach if I wanted to. Out of Mustangs after 3 didn't work. Finally gave me an "upgrade" because this whole drama took 2 hours; new paperwork and loading and unloading every time. Finally said give me a vehicle that works correctly. As I was driving out of the airport, the "needs maintenance" light came on. Sheesh. Never again with Budget.

Checking in online while I was in line was great. It saved me so much time when I finally got to an agent. I was in and out so fast I couldn’t believe it!

Great experience, nice vehicle's, expedient service from front desk to gate attendant who made sure I was happy with vehicle.

Can't believe this company is still surviving. The pickup experience is horrendous. Fast Break was not available? The wait time for a vehicle is unbelievable. The quality control on cleanliness and mechanical needs is really poor. I have tried to continue to rent from them but there is a reason they are so inexpensive; they take short cuts on customer service. I should not have to point out that I had no washer fluid for my rental. Worth a few extra $$ for less stress when renting and my time is worth $$, too.

Gates were closed, Horrible lines, Charged me for services I declined. I am happy to take my travel business somewhere else.

Car had low tire and I didn’t see the tire warning until I left. Only option was for me to repair or drive 17 miles to swap…while on vacation. Rep lied and told me at pickup tolls were pass only and no cash then charged me an extra $50 to cover. I saw the cash line as I passed through tolls and only needed it twice. I could have spent a few dollars instead of $50. Never again.
