The agent at the desk was very inattentive, completely uninterested, used single word answers, gave me what he wanted me to have rather than what I had ordered. On return some 3 hours later, and despite me filling the tank back up they tried to charge me $19-the reason given was that as I had covered less than 100miles they assumed I had not replaced the fuel I had used. I suppose the clue really is in the name. As a regular overseas visitor I have always used Alamo, as they couldn’t help with a short notice short term rental this time, I used Budget for the first time ever, I can say, it will be my last time.

Super fast check in check out, better rates than at the airport and located very close to the cruise port, free shuttle to the port.

They were understaffed & the service was bad. We dropped off the car and waited 1.5 hours for the receipt. Then, the staff told us that: “You’re good to go and I’ll email the receipt to you”. The email never came. We were rushing to board a cruise so we left w/o the receipt. Later, when we checked our credit card statement today, they charged more 200% over of the original price. They charged the gas even though we filled up it at the station across street before returning. If you come here, please make sure you get your receipt before leaving. Don’t make the same mistake like us.

We had the worst rental car experience ever. We waited for the cruise ship shuttle to Budget for almost 2 hours. It never came. We then took an Uber to Budget and could not pick up our rental car as there was a line of 100 people to pick up cars. We never got our car. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. We are never renting with budget again.

When I rented a car from Budget, I requested a free pick-up from my residence (within 5-mile radius). I spent 40 minutes on the phone with the general line Customer Service to schedule the pick-up. They verified that the rental location does free pick-ups, accepted my request and said that I would receive a confirmation email within 24 hours.
When in 24 hours no confirmation email arrived, I called the Customer Service again, and spent another 30 minutes explaining the situation, getting switched between answering machines and multiple people. Eventually, a representative put me on hold and then assured that my pick-up the next morning was confirmed.
Of course, the next morning (on Saturday) nobody showed up to pick me up. The Customer Service line was unavailable on Saturday. I waited for 30 minutes and then had to call Uber to get to the rental location. I wasted an additional hour of my time.
When I arrived at the rental location, the representatives there told me that they do not do pick-ups, and they were not even aware of my request. Apparently, it was my problem, so they did not even apologize.
Conclusion: rent from Budget at your own risk and pray that you do not have any issues (like a flat tire), because it will be only your problem and you will be on your own. The Customer Service people are ignorant, unprofessional and disorganized. Bad company, poor service! Never again!

Quick and exceptional service from check in and check out agents. Car was new, clean and overall amazing. I highly recommend.

I had made a reservation for a full size SUV over 9 months ago. I called the day before my arrival and was told there were plenty on the lot and it would be there for me when I arrived at 8am. When I arrived, there was only one car on the lot - a Buick SUV. The other incoming cars would be a 6+ hour wait and no guarantee on what type. This was TERRIBLE planning and customer service. When I have a reservation made far in advance, I expect that to be honored. Your services are unreliable. Not to mention the car we did receive was DISGUSTING. It had not been cleaned and smelled horrific.

They charged us 30$ extra for gas saying we didn’t fill it. We drove exactly 12 miles with a Kia Forte. The needle was still at full when we brought it back. That’s a rip off!

Didn't have the vehicle promised available when I arrived. When I reserve a vehicle ahead of time I expect that class of vehicle to be waiting or an acceptable upgrade. Vehicle I received had a driver's side airbag warning light on for the duration of rental.

Very poor customer service, toddler chair not in good condition, left on a corner. No guidance as to where the car is. He literally said, go out that door and click the keys, the car will make a sound. I had a toddler, suitcases and childseat to carry. I was the only customer and meanwhile the counter guy just sat there. There was supposedly a shuttle to the car rental location, and after 45 minutes of calling without respose we had to take a taxi. He was not helpful at all.

Both vehicles were dirty inside and out and had high mileage and no Sirius radio despite agents saying it would be turned on. It's very hard to talk with an agent at a specific location.

Shuttle, but bait and switch op. Rented car thru Costco for a few days post cruise. Spotted shuttle waiting for Uber. Darn Brits tried cutting in line. Nice guys running the shuttles, but let off at offsite rental center. Another long line only to discover that it was wrong location. Could get us a car for 30% more! Nope. Took Uber to airport rental center. Two more long lines (and rejected fastbreak) and finally got a car. Lovely cruise on Sky Princess, but won't be back to Florida anytime soon. Just not worth it.

My experience this year was flawless. The vehicle I rented was clean, smoke-free and no issues. Pick up was prompt and 5 stars overall. The previous time (same company) it was an issue as they were overbooked at the holidays that year (pre-covid) and would not even take me to the reservation counter because it was not prepaid. That year no rental companies had vehicles (i think Sixt had a car too small for my family, but none of the major companies) in FLL, cruiseport or airport. With travel back in full swing and the industry not ready I would have a plan B in place if travel plans depend on it

Miami Road Rental Office VERY close to Port Everglade Cruise Terminal, Shuttle driver very courteous and helpful, Office staff friendly and efficient, high quality clean car, was on the road withi an hour after disembarkation.

The location was great; everything was handled smoothly; the car was what i asked for and drove well.one star is removed for Budget corporation (not the location) ; the concern is that if one has mobility issues, it is very difficult to rent from the actual FLL airport onsite location-and therefore needs to pay/arrange to reach other local location. 5 stars for this location for the overall experience (note i did prepay).

Scam. They change your BCN (discount) code. I was also charged a "downgrade" - got smallest car ever and rate doubled. They prey on cruise people never having enough cars.

Buyer Beware. Dishonest business practices. (BAIT & SWITCH) At check in they will inform u quoted price only applies to corporate accounts. This is a lie. (GAS SCAM) Our gas was 1/4 full at pick up. Applied a $300 re-fueling fee upon airport return. Luckly we are aware of this scam & took photos of odometer and fuel level at pick up and used it to receive a full refund on our AMX.

Horrible! Over charged for wrong vehicle because Ford had recall. Charged for a full tank when we were given half a tank. Employee was of no help at all! I'd give a zero if I could!

Do not rent a car from Budget at Port Everglades. Avis is in the same facility and is just as bad. Go elsewhere. The shuttle never arrived. Everyone had to take a $14 taxi to the office. They were closed! People were standing outside waiting for them to finally have employees show up. This place is so poorly run. I will never rent from them again and I will be back soon. I’m trying Sixt next time.

I've never rented a car but I can't imagine it being worse than this. We just returned from our cruise, 930am on Sat July 16. Our flight doesn't leave until 830 tonight so we decided to rent a car for the day. We made a reservation for a car shortly after getting off the ship. We were told a shuttle makes a trip from the port to the airport every 15 to 30 minutes. Still no shuttle after 2 hours. We, as in my wife and myself on 2 separate phones, have called easily 15 times. We've been hung up on multiple times, put on constant loops of recordings, and had one guy claim he couldn't hear anything after 15 minutes of being on hold. The end of the story is we were then told they don't offer a shuttle service, which we saw the van twice before booking our reservation. We finally just asked for a refund and used an Uber to get to the airport and we'll figure it out from there.

Car performed well and was comfortable. However, it needed tires 5,000 miles ago. Look at them before you drive away. Had there been heavy rain, quite possible in S, Florida, the car would've been everywhere.

The staff at the FLL airport are not very nice or helpful. The price did not end up being the same as what Costco quoted me. This has never happened at any other Budget location I have rented from. The staff at the Fort Lauderdale Cruiseport location were super nice, friendly and helpful. You would not think that they work for the same company. Fastbreak needs to be available all the time, it is why I rent from Budget. The paperwork should at least all be done even if an agent has to hand it to you. Waiting in line for 45 minutes at 3am was not expected or appreciated.

I reserved and paid for pickup 10 days. When I arrived to pick vehicle up the guy at front desk told me that someone at the company changed reservation to a car. I had to go to another location and had to settle for a SUV (which wasn’t adequate) for the same price. No one came out to check vehicle and on paper they lied that they gave me a full tank of gas but I have my video that shows half. Got a flat tire and I waited almost 4 hours for assistance. My husband found a mechanic to see if he could get tire patched but mechanic said it could not be patched because it was a tear in the tire. Missed my daughter graduation. Had to drive back hundreds of miles on a spare tire with that tire light on all the way. The vehicle had dead bugs and flies still attached to it from previous journey and inside vehicle was also dirty. Very little interest shown in vehicle and customer safety.

Nope. Line was two hours long so I rebooked with Enterprise while waiting in line. Oh, and it was cheaper.
