Avis Car Rental

I've been a renter from this location for the past 9 years and I've had nothing but satisfied service from the staff and the vehicles always in top notch condition. Thank you Avis 1 Yamato Rd.

Avis was great. Picked up in Boynton Beach and returned at PBI. In both places the representative was efficient and friendly. Would rent there again

To whom it may concern:

I am writing in reference to the reservation number noted above. This is our third rental with Avis in the past three months from the same location and a tremendous disappointment so far. Our rental is scheduled from July 3 to August 3, and we had intended to extend our rental; however, that decision hangs in the balance dependent upon the outcome of this inquiry. We picked up our rental on July 3 and were given a Jeep Cherokee which was extremely dirty, had a nauseating odor, breaks that felt unsafe, and a gas cap cover was completely missing. When I pointed out the missing gas cap cover, I was told by two employees at this location “that all Jeep Cherokees come like that” and that nothing was missing. After I drove off with the car, I returned to the rental center to express my discomfort with driving the rental provided for all of the reasons noted above. I was told to come back after the holiday week to swap out the vehicle because they did not have any other vehicle available at that time. For one week I had to drive with my children in a car that was dirty and felt unsafe. Low and behold, we found the broken gas cap cover in the Jeep wheel well the second day we had the car.

When I returned the following Monday, I was able to successfully swap out the Jeep for a different car, a Chevrolet Traverse. The car itself feels safe, however this car was also given to us in filthy condition and my husband was forced to clean it. To make matters worse, about halfway through our road trip the change oil soon indicator light came up. How is it possible that we were given a second car from the same location with maintenance issues. Why are the employees at this location not checking these cars for cleanliness and maintenance issues before they give them to a paying customer? Not only is that horrible customer service, but it is unsafe.

We have this car until August 3. I want to know how the oil change issue will be handled at our convenience. I do not want to swap out this car because I do not know what we will end up with. Will the car be dirty? Will it be safe? Will it need maintenance that was overlooked? I also would like to be fairly compensated for all of these inconveniences and issues.

Was putting my truck into the shop as I was hit and needed my bumper repainted.
Made an appointment for the body shop and a reservation for Avis. Dropped off my truck and walked down the street to Avis and say there for a bit. There were 2 guys behind the counter one telling the other what to do.
This went on for 15 minutes without anyone addressing me so I finally said, "hello" I have a reservation and was informed that they had no cars.
Nothing good about a company making a reservation when they have no cars available.
If only I had asked when I first called Avis car rental does this location have any cars available?
Oh wait a second, I did just that.
They told me yes they had cars made me a reservation and only when I got there was I told sorry no cars.
Not very nice at all. I won't be renting from Avis ever again.

I am a preferred member of both Avis and Hertz. But the two companies are like Heaven and hell. Hertz gives you the most awful experience while Avis is amazing. From customer service to efficiency Avis is superior in every regard.

Avis in Boca is a distant number 2 to Hertz from my experience this first time at Avis. Unless you protest you are given a car that is dusty, not properly vacuumed, has manual seat adjustments and even then you have to go back for window washer fluid after the first time you try to use it.

I have used this Avis on Multiple occasions and every time was great. Each time I rented a vehicle I returned it back in the same condition, I cleaned it and refilled it with gas before returning their vehicle (the least I can do). As a small business owner I appreciate their service.

Horrible experience last night picking up our reserved car. We are senior citizens that had it reserved for 1 month. Came in to pick it up and worker told us our credit card was denied. Called MasterCard in front of him and they said our card was fine no hold and no transaction was made from Avis. My credit is excellent and tried two more credit cards and they were also denied. Sketchy place with dishonest workers. Not sure why they did not want to make a $700 sale. Had to take Uber home and will never use Avis again. Used my credit card to pay for Priceline rental instead and same card went through with no problem at all. Very angry for embarrassing experience and lack of customer service. Shutting it down would be the best move.

The staff there were not very helpful or professional. Reservations were not honored at that location. Wow

Left with a bad taste in my mouth. Mi wouldn’t use Avis again. Communication is horrible.
I picked up the rental in Boca Raton on January 15. When we arrived everyone was great. The car was in my name but my brother paid with his card. I was scheduled to return the rental on January 17 at 1: 30pm. Turns out that my card was charged three hours before the car had been returned. I was charged 228.00 while I still had the car. Why was I charged if my brother had already been charged 340.92?
He also for the car and deposit. How does someone check in a car that’s not at your station yet? Even charge me for gas when I wasn’t even there?
Unacceptable!

This AVIS CAR RENTAL on Yamato Road is in a word FANTASTIC!
Never had and issue, and that is because store Manager JOHN takes care of my immediate needs in securing the right car every time I rent from them.

If I ever need to rent again I will definitely come back here! Thank you Carole! 5 stars ️

The staff members in the office was very nice and very efficient in doing their job. I was in and out of there because my rental was ready to go. But for the short period of time that I was there, they kept me laughing. My car rental needs were met, and I was treated with respect.

Would put ZERO stars if I could! Absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had at an Avis. Original car reservation wasn’t available. As a preferred member I was denied choice of upgrade. Car I was given had maintnence issues and I had to change vehicles in Orlando when original reservation was in Boca Raton fl. Upon return they had wrong checkout time making me late for a very important meeting. Also I was told I would be charged state rate for gas but the additional charges was $70. Bill was closed without my consent and now I have to jump through hoops just to do a split payment. This Avis should be shut down and/or bring in corporate for training. I will never ever rent from here again and I will tell my whole network of colleagues, friends and family to do the same so they do not incur the same horrible experience I had with Avis of Boca Raton!

I have been using this location for a number of years now because it is convenient for me. However, the last few times, the cars have been really dirty inside and outside. Today's car had fingerprints all over the display and some dripping stuff on the back door plastics. I had to sanitize it once I got home. It was nasty. I hope they are reading this and correct this issue. There were 3 guys in the cleaning area today, so I do not think it is a lack of workers like I was told the previous time I mentioned this.

I have rented here multiple times before with no issues but this time, I was in a rush after work. They handed me the keys and I jumped in and left. It wasn't until I got home that I realized the condition of the vehicle. The floor was a mess (it had not been vacuumed) and the exterior was filthy. I included a photo but it does not show the real condition. And they were closed by this time. I had to take my car to a car wash and pay to have it cleaned before I left on my trip. It will make me think twice before renting there again.

For unknown reasons, I was charged additional fees of an amount almost equal to the rental amount for the entire period! This is a common fraud and I warn everyone against using the services of Avis company. I booked a car using AutoEurope and I was unfortunate enough to be redirected to Avis car rental to pick up my car. I was cheated and charged extra by a company employee, which was due to my lack of knowledge of local regulations.

Horrible experience. Worst customer service ever. Nasty employees. I brought the car back the day after renting it. There were crumbs in the cup holder, flowers between the seats, and smears in the inside of the window. The person in charge told me that the car had been cleaned, he saw the employees do it. The car wash guys told me that they cleaned it. Further they said that " this is not a car wash, if you want it cleaned; there's car washes up and down Federal Highway. " They said that it was clean after I told them specifically that I didn't eat or have flowers in the car. I asked them if they were calling me a liar. Then to they had the audacity to say "have a nice day. " I rented from Sixt for three weeks prior to this rental. I switched to Avis because it was cheaper. The saying that you get what you pay for is true. They don't even have tinted windows in South Florida. Car rentals are not apples to apples. I learned this the hard way. From now I Sixt has my business when I'm in South Florida.

Overall experience was poor. My rental was scheduled for pickup on May first, but at the time of arrival I was informed it wasn’t there and was sent to two more locations because staff assured me it was at those locations. Come to find out, there was no passenger van around for pick up. After canceling my trip for 24 hours, and multiple attempts made to contact customer service later, I was told to arrive at the West Palm location for an 8am pickup. Prior to ending the phone call, I was guaranteed it was already there. No surprise at 8 am there was no van located at this location either. Thankfully the manager at the west palm location was able to help me track a rental down at the Boca location. No adjust of cost was made after more than 24 hours of set backs and 5 hours of person travel in order to pick up the rental.

Easily the best experience I’ve ever had renting a car in 30 years.

The car was also presented perfectly.

The facility was filthy and the car they had for me was not satisfactory, worn out tires, two years old, very high mileage with no apparent maintenance. I rented for 35 days and each time I called them they did not even answer the phone. When I got my credit card bill it was $242 more than the contract called for. No explanation and no answer on their phone. The car was returned on time and full of fuel to the location agreed to and actually better than when I got it.
Avis should close this dump location.

Rented a car Feb 4. It was a great car, big V-8, better than promised, got me up to Jax. Very friendly and effective service.

Exceptional service! My friend and I had a horrible experience with Uhaul and urgently needed help finding a Cargo Van. The owner, John was our knight and shining armor and helped us find exactly what we need! Great service & excellent customer service. HIGHLY recommend!

I came in yesterday morning just to find out about some rates and the Avis worker at the front desk was very unprofessional. After talking about the rates with the man he asked me if I’m single and repeatedly tried to get my number. I am very disappointed in the service Avis provided yesterday morning and I will be calling into corporate later today to report this incident.do NOT go into this Avis location this man is a creep and needs help.

None of the staff were wearing masks. For that reason alone, I should have only given 1 star. There is no excuse for that in these times. And one of the staff members kept going on about his personal opinions about covid. I was just returning the car and he wouldn't stop talking about it. He even starting saying how he didn't like Biden. Very inappropriate and uncomfortable.

I always rent at this location because of John. People are so nice and efficient. Car very new,
low mileage. I recommend to all.

Remember to check the Fuel level of the car before taking the car out. They say on paper that it's full even if it's not.

I typically feel very confident that my Avis rental experience will be a good one. However, when I showed up to pick up the car I reserved (10 minutes late albeit), there were no cars available, not just in the class that I reserved, but in total. I had to wait in the lobby for 50 minutes for a car to be returned and cleaned, that was in a lower class than the one I reserved. But I was not going to sit around and wait forever, so I accepted it. The car did not have a very pleasant smell to it either, even after cleaning. In all, I expected more being that I am a Preferred Plus member with Avis, and that I had the reservation in the books well in advance.

John (president) couldn't have been nicer. He was was such a pleasure to deal with. I would come here over the airport any day of the week!

Great Location! And the rental process was surprisingly quick, there is always a great selection of cars and more importantly the genuine friendly smiles & service from John and Oz makes it a pleasant experience. They always go out of there way to give me the best deals if I need to keep the car an extra day its no problem.
